UK Non-Contact Boxing Course

Staff and Junior Sports Leaders are very excited to be involved in a new venture here at Hamble College. We have hooked up with Network Rail to train staff and students to become UK non-contact boxing award trainers. Q Shillingford MBE ran the course which was funded by Network Rail. We learnt how to deliver fitness, warm ups and non-contact boxing techniques in a fun and exciting way. There was lots of laugher mixed in with the training that was extremely informative. We were also taught the discipline and responsibility of boxing as a sport. We all passed with flying colours. The training will be on-going until January when we hope to roll out the Non-contact Boxing course to all students in the college. We will be giving presentations in assemblies to all year groups throughout December. This is an on-going project that will be supported by Network Rail.

Q informed us that the students were a credit to the college and it had been a pleasure to train us all.

There is a presentation for students about the Boxing Awards on Wednesday 26th November at 2.45 in the main hall, the club will be running after Christmas to offer a programme of non-contact boxing skills for students who are interested.

If you are interested in going to the presentation you will need to sign up using the form below or pass your name and email address to your mentor who will let Ms Parrett know by email – attendance at the presentation is invitation only – your name has to be on the list!
